Terms of sale

Last updated 2026-10-21

About these terms

These terms of sale apply to every order you place on the National Library Press website. The seller is DAHMANI LIMITED, which runs National Library Press. It is registered in England and Wales, company number 14723909, with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ.

How a contract is formed

When you place an order, you make an offer to buy. We accept your offer when we send you an order confirmation email. The contract is formed at that point. Until then, no contract exists between us.

Audiobooks

Audiobooks are digital files. For now, every audiobook is sold through Gumroad as merchant of record. Later, DAHMANI LIMITED, which runs National Library Press, will sell to buyers outside the EU through our own checkout, and Stripe will process payment. Audiobooks are not shipped, so the shipping terms do not apply to them.

Each audiobook is narrated by an AI voice (Google Gemini text-to-speech) and is delivered as MP3 files in a ZIP. Your download is available for one year after payment, and you may download each file up to 10 times in that year.

Because an audiobook is digital content, your 14-day right to cancel ends when the download starts. By checking the box at checkout, you ask for the download to start straight away, and you acknowledge that you then lose your right to cancel.

If an audio file is faulty, tell us within 30 days of purchase at support@nationallibrary.press, with your order email. We will replace the file or refund the order.

Each audiobook is licensed for your own personal listening only. You may not copy, redistribute, resell or share the audio files.

All audiobook orders are sold through Gumroad for now. Gumroad is the merchant of record: it sells the audiobook, handles payment, delivery and sales tax, and its terms, receipt and refund process apply to those orders. When our own checkout opens, buyers outside the EU will buy from DAHMANI LIMITED, and EU buyers will stay on Gumroad.

Prices and payment

Prices are in US dollars (USD). DAHMANI LIMITED is not VAT-registered, so no VAT is added. The total, including shipping, is shown before you pay. Shipping is explained on our shipping page, including any fees that a carrier may charge.

Payment is taken through Stripe Checkout. We do not store your card details.

Printed to order

Every book is printed to order by our UK print partner after you place your order. Printing takes 5 to 7 working days, as explained on our shipping page. Printing time and transit time are different.

Delivery

We ship to the United States and the United Kingdom only, as listed on our shipping page. Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed. Risk in the book passes to you when it is delivered to the address you gave us.

Cancellations and returns

Our returns page explains how to cancel an order, what happens if a book is misprinted, damaged or wrong, and how refunds are paid. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by these terms.

Our liability

We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms, but only as the law allows.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes:

  • our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence
  • our liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • any statutory rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by law
  • any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law

Intellectual property

Our cover designs, page layouts and original text belong to DAHMANI LIMITED. Where a book reproduces a public-domain work, that underlying text is in the public domain, but the cover, layout and editorial matter are ours. When you buy a book, you receive it for your own personal use. You may not copy, reproduce, resell, redistribute or create derivative works from our covers or layouts, and you may not offer them for sale.

Acceptable use of the site

When you use our website, you must not:

  • use it for any unlawful purpose
  • try to gain unauthorised access to the site, our systems or other users’ accounts
  • interfere with the site or its security, or introduce harmful code
  • copy or scrape the site’s content for use elsewhere without our permission
  • give us false information when you place an order

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, although if you are a consumer you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your own country where the law allows.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes apply to orders placed after the date the updated terms are published. The date at the top of this page shows when the terms were last updated.
